Ronald W. Rickard

A 1975 graduate of Wayne State University Law School, Mr. Rickard has practiced law in Imlay City for 40 years. Mr. Rickard specializes in the areas of domestic relations, estate and business planning, real estate, criminal law, municipal/zoning law and other more general practice areas.

Mr. Rickard has represented numerous municipalities in Lapeer County and many other substantial businesses and individuals.


Mr. Rickard is the past president of the Lapeer County Bar Association, Imlay City Rotary Club and formerly served as a member of the Adrian College Board of Trustees.

Mr. Rickard comes from a family well-established in the local legal system. His father-in-law was a Judge in St. Clair County. Mr. Rickard’s two brothers, his sister, his daughter and son-in-law are also attorneys. His father and uncle were ministers. Mr. Rickard is an active member of a Christian congregation in Lapeer.


Shane M. Childers

Shane M. Childers has been a licensed attorney since 2008 and joined the firm in 2015. Mr. Childers concentrates his practice in the areas of Elder Law, Estate Planning, Probate, Veteran Claims, Criminal Defense, and Family Law.

Mr. Childers began his legal career with the United States Air Force JAG Corp after graduating Cum Laude from law school and passing the bar exam in 2008. As a member of the JAG Corp, Mr. Childers served as the Chief of Military Justice at Ellsworth AFB, SD, where he worked as the lead prosecutor for military courts-martial, handling a broad array of criminal cases and administrative discharge board hearings. He also served as the Chief of Legal Assistance where his primary role was to advise our nation’s active duty members, retirees, and disabled veterans on a broad array of legal topics through the Air Force’s legal assistance program. Mr. Childers continues to serve our country as an Air Force Reserve Individual Mobilization Augmentee, presently attached to Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.

Mr. Childers is passionate about giving back to the community. He currently serves on the board of the Imlay City Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the Lapeer Criminal Defense Bar Association, is a member of Ducks Unlimited, regularly serves as an instructor for Michigan concealed pistol license courses, and is actively involved at his church. Outside of the office, Mr. Childers enjoys hunting, fly fishing, cycling, running, and coaching his son’s youth sports teams. He resides in Imlay City with his wife, and two children.
